What is the Tour de Yorkshire?
In its fifth edition, the Tour de Yorkshire is comprised of both Men’s and Women’s cycles races. The Men’s race is over 4 days/stages with a combined distance of 624.5km of Yorkshire countryside, and the Women’s is over 2 days totalling 264km. New for this year, the Women’s race has been moved to the Friday/Saturday to ensure more people can enjoy the race.
What is Presca doing this Tour de Yorkshire?
This year will see our partners Vitus Pro Cycling Team, powered by Brother UK riding the 4 stages in our sustainably developed kit throughout the Tour de Yorkshire. As with all our kit, this is manufactured in the UK with an ethical supply chain using cutting-edge sustainable fabrics with superior design for speed and aerodynamic performance in the real world.
This is the first year time a sustainable pro-performance kit will be worn during the Tour de Yorkshire made from 100% recycled materials. Each jersey is made from 7 plastic bottles which consume 60% less energy and 94% less water than alternatives from virgin materials.
Following on from recent success of the team at the East Cleveland Klondike we have high hopes for the team.
On Sunday, our very own Peter Lillie (Co Founder) will be riding the Sportive with the Cycle Expo Yorkshire team. We are supplying our sustainable jerseys for the team in the sportive, so keep an eye on out!
It is set to be a fantastic event bringing together the Tour de Yorkshire and the Cycle Expo Yorkshire team as they gear up to the other big events this year in Yorkshire – Cycle Expo and the UCI 2019 World Road Championships!
